Travel Alberta Capital Investment Program

June 23, 2021

From the Travel Alberta Industry Website

The Capital Investment Program supports the recovery of the Alberta Visitor Economy and provides stimulus for future growth.

The program is designed to assist Alberta businesses and municipalities with launching or completing new shovel ready tourism infrastructure initiatives and enables the diversification or expansion of the guest experience through new product assets.
Development projects should stimulate new visitation, generate revenue, and support economic revitalization.

The program offers two funding streams:

  • Tourism Infrastructure Investment - purchases, construction, renovation used in the development of a tourism related product, experience or in the rendering of services.
  • Tourism Asset Investment - purchasing cost of new capital assets to enhance the product offering and visitor experience. They are not intended for sale in the regular course of the business operation.
