Day on the Creek

Event Description :
During the Day on the Creek event, a series of learning stations are set up along and adjacent to Pincher Creek where it runs through the town of Pincher Creek. More than 60 presenters and volunteers from the community and 20 partner organizations come together to address a variety of topics and offer learning activities. Students and their teachers from Canyon, Matthew Halton and St. Michael’s Schools are invited to spend the day along the creek and are scheduled to attend one or more presentations between 9 am and 3 pm. There are also a number of unscheduled activities ongoing throughout the day. While focused on the needs of students, everyone is welcome to attend the Day on the Creek and explore the various learning activities including: Traditional First Nations knowledge, history, and connections to our environment Native plants and animals that live along Pincher Creek Riparian and aquatic ecosystems and how to monitor their health Human impact and responsibility for our environment How our watershed works Ways to steward our creek and keep it healthy Local archaeology, geology, and history about Pincher Creek

Road Closure | Beverly McLachlin Dr | May 9-10

RESCHEDULED!

Beverly McLachlin Drive will be closed between Frederick Street and Adelaide Street from May 1 to May 2 to allow for the installation of a utility services.

Please use extreme caution when travelling near construction workers and obey all barricades and detours.
PRESS RELEASE – STAGE 1 WATER RESTRICTION IN EFFECT
April 24, 2024
April 24, 2024 - For immediate release – On Monday, April 22, 2024, Town Council passed the amended Water Utility Bylaw. Changes to the bylaw include the trigger points for enacting water restrictions in the Town of Pincher Creek. This update was requested by the province as part of the Town of Pincher Creek’s Drought Management Plan.
 
The Town of Pincher Creek has moved from Stage 2 Water Restriction to Stage 1 Voluntary Water Conservation effective April 24, 2024 based on the Water Utility Bylaw 1631-24 revisions of April 22, 2024.
