Restrictions Exemption Program in Effect for Rec facilities

On Wednesday, September 15, the Government of Alberta declared a State of Public Health Emergency along with additional restrictions and the Restrictions Exemption Program that impact Pincher Creek residents, businesses, programs and services, activities, and facilities.
The Town of Pincher Creek recognizes that this is a difficult and complex time, and we ask for and appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation as we adapt to the new restrictions.
Please choose to treat each other with kindness and respect during these challenging and stressful times.

As of Monday September 20, 2021, recreation facilities owned and operated by the Town of Pincher Creek will be following the Restrictions Exemption Program.  This also allows for the Town’s recreational facilities to operate with no capacity restrictions and adult/senior sport, fitness and recreation opportunities to continue operations.
If you choose to use a recreation facility operated by the Town of Pincher Creek the following will be required:

  • A mask or face-covering*
  • Maintain 2-meter physical distancing
  • Proof of one dose of vaccination OR
  • Proof of a privately paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours OR
  • Documentation of a medical exemption
Children under the age of 18 are not required to show vaccination, a negative test, or an exemption.  

*face-coverings are not required once you enter the pool deck, not required in the water and not required on the ice-surface.

 Pincher Creek Swimming Pool
  • A face covering/mask is required upon entering the building
  • Proof of vaccination, a negative test or exemption is required at the pool desk
  • You may choose to note your status on file so that your documentation is attached to your file
Pincher Creek Memorial Community Centre (Ice Arena)
  • A face covering/mask is required upon entering the building
  • Proof of vaccination, a negative test or exemption is required when entering the building, every time a person enters
 
Pincher Creek Town Hall Gym (962 St. John Ave)
  • A face covering/mask is required upon entering the building
  • Proof of vaccination, a negative test or exemption will be required when booking programs
  • Proof of vaccination, a negative test or exemption will be required when attending programs
Arrangements will be made for the municipal election to ensure that all eligible voters can vote regardless of their vaccination status.
